DARE TO BEGIN

Once Picasso was asked what his paintings meant. He said, “Do you ever know what the birds are singing? You don’t, but you listen to them anyway. So, sometimes with art, it is important just to look.”

Dare To Begin
Creating is a bold thing to do.
It takes courage to be an artist, make something, put it out there, and show someone.
Creating requires the ability and willingness to work hard, make choices, experiment, make left turns, risk failure and take leaps of faith.
And, most importantly, an artist must have the courage to begin.
An artist must dare to show up at the easel and begin. Take the road less traveled, push themselves to go beyond where they have not been before, and to trust and rely on their skills and talents.
An artist must dare to be themselves and put a bit of themselves into their work.
An artist must dare to create the work they were meant to create in spite of possible rejection, judgement and criticism.
Remember, the creation of a piece of art is far more important than any criticism of it.
And, the only way to create a piece of art is to dare to begin.
