OPT FOR COMMITMENT
“I am working away in my room without interruption which does me good and chases away what I imagine are abnormal ideas.”
Vincent Van Gogh
Opt For Commitment
If your choices are resistance or commitment, choose commitment.
Resistance is safe. After all, if you are not busy creating, then you can’t make mistakes or fail. Resistance also prevents you from experiencing opportunities to learn.
Resistance leads to procrastination. self-doubt and also allows you to easily be distracted.
Resistance guarantees that you will not be creative at all.
With commitment, there are no guarantees. There will, however, be uncertainty. There may even be fear of the unknown. But at least you will be creating. And once you show up and begin, you will find yourself immersed in your work.
Once you commit, you tell yourself that what you are about to set out to create is important and meaningful to you.
Commitment accelerates creativity, improves confidence, allows for more involvement in the process and increases productivity.
If the choice is between resistance and commitment, seriously consider opting for commitment.
ELEVATE Los Angeles 2017
I have just wrapped up my ELEVATE Artists Mentor Program here in San Luis Obispo County. It was amazing to work with six very talented and wonderful artists who experienced the power of ELEVATE.
I am so excited to be able to offer ELEVATE in Los Angeles again. If you think you might be interested in being one of only seven artists to be able to participate in this groundbreaking program, please click here to let us know if you are interested and we will place you on the Early Interest List. If you are interested in learning more about the program, you can click here. Spaces are limited, so give yourself the opportunity to ELEVATE now.
Best,
David
