Your Discovery Passion

I talk a lot about process. Being involved in the process. Focusing on the process. Process not product. Make one mark at a time. Make a mark, observe, react and make another mark. Adjust, shift, change and re-work. Guess and correct.

I always say that we should be passionate about process. The search for the right line, shape, color, value and texture. That we should strive to achieve the right mix of these things when combined together. The magical balance.

I try to emphasize that process should be about exploration and learning. And about discovery. Yes, discovery. And learning. Creativity should always be about learning.

We will never get to the point where we know it all. Therefore, be passionate about the search. And about learning.

Discovery should definitely be one of our passions for this coming year.
