DESCRIPTION
This workshop provides you with an opportunity to work on either a current, ongoing project that you have already been engaged in, or begin a new project. You will receive guidance, inspiration and advice as you work. Second, you will be assisted in developing your personal visual voice as an artist. Ample time is provided to work on your own projects in addition to receiving individual feedback and participating in group discussions and critiques. You will learn from both the instruction and the other artists, resulting from the camaraderie of working alongside other artists.
Student furnishes their own supplies, surfaces and projects to work on which can include works in progress. This workshop does not include a live model. Additionally, student must provide their own reference material to work from (photos, sketches, objects, etc.). (No oil paint; however, oil paint sticks are okay.)
Guidelines: You may work on 6 pieces maximum with a maximum size of 48” x 32” for each piece.

SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT COVID-19
We ask for your patience and understanding while we (as individuals, a state, and a Country) all move to this new phase in the Covid journey. We look forward to the days when we no longer give a second thought to masks and social distancing but for now...
Based on the request of the Art Barn host, David’s own personal preferences, and the preferences of a number of students, we have decided to open these workshops to vaccinated individuals only.
Fully vaccinated individuals are invited to enroll.
Fully vaccinated will be defined as having received:
Two doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or one dose of the J&J vaccine
Plus, before the workshop begins, having two weeks passed since the date of your second vaccination (Pfizer or Moderna) or single dose of the J&J vaccine
This means all vaccination shots need to be completed by Thursday, August 5th.
Proof of vaccination will be required. Details for providing this will be sent when you request enrollment.
Masks are optional. You are welcome to wear a mask at any time, if you wish.
If you are not yet vaccinated but are planning to do so and would like to enroll, please let us know so we can reserve a space. Priority will be given to currently fully vaccinated people.

ABOUT ARROYO GRANDE
[PRAISE FOR DAVID LIMRITE]
Workshop Participant, Hannon Art Barn, Summer 2015:
I learned so much in three short days, especially what doesn’t work in my paintings and for me personally. David is truly kind, most encouraging, caring and supportive. I benefitted from the critiques because they were so positive, with much good advice on making paintings stronger.
Workshop Participant, Hannon Art Barn, Summer 2015
It could have been five days! Was just finding my groove and it was time to pack up.
Workshop Participant, Hannon Art Barn, Summer 2015
[I enjoyed] working in a positive, encouraging environment with fun people in a great place. And of course, I enjoy your very positive critique style.
Workshop Participant, Palm Springs Art Museum, February 2016:
Absolutely challenging and making me work far out of my normal little “box”. David is an ultimate teacher, super encouraging and supportive. Also, incredibly knowledgeable, but easily understood.
Workshop Participant, Palm Springs Art Museum, February 2016:
Fast pace. David kept it interesting. Great demonstrations.
Good positive vibe through the workshop. Had a great time!
